Hello, Summer! | June 2025
Can you believe it’s already the first day of summer? There’s something magical about this season — the way it rolls in with longer days, warmer nights, and that undeniable let’s just relax a little kind of energy.
Summer Vibes & Hosting Joy
When I think of summer, my mind immediately goes to BBQs and pool time, hosting family and friends, and making space for the little joys — like grilled elote dusted in chili and lime, juicy watermelon salad, and popsicles that melt faster than you can eat them.
We don’t have kids, but our home is often full of laughter, splashing, and fun when we host friends and their little ones — so pool time is a must! We usually plan to keep things small and simple… but somehow, it always turns into a full table, a packed patio, and me wondering if we have enough forks. It’s a little hectic — and a whole lot of love. And honestly, I see it as an extension of the work I feel called to do: serving others with intention, grace, and joy. Hosting isn’t just an activity — it’s a reflection of my heart and my faith in action.

Slowing Down, Soaking It In
This season also means more intentional time with my lovable dogs (my built-in adventure buddies) and quality time with my husband — slowing down to enjoy long sunsets, outdoor dinners, and spontaneous moments together.
And… it’s my birthday season! Last year, we took the dogs to Ojai for a peaceful little getaway.
This year, I’m thinking of somewhere close by but special.
Do you have any suggestions for a short birthday escape?
I’d love to hear your favorite relaxing, dog-friendly spots!
“This summer, I’m craving more slow mornings, meals shared outside, and the kind of presence that reminds you to soak it all in.”
No Guilt, Just Balance
And here’s a gentle reminder for all of us (myself included):
Don’t let weight or appearance steal the joy of the season.
Summer isn’t meant to be a time of guilt — it’s for living, laughing, and treating yourself to things that make you feel good. That said, I’m keeping it balanced with daily walks, weekend hikes, and plenty of hydration — not to punish myself, but to stay grounded, grateful, and energized for the moments that matter.
