The Edge of Autumn | August 2025

A gentle goodbye to summer and a quiet turning toward fall

It always surprises me how August arrives with a softness — not quite summer anymore, but
not fully fall either.
The light begins to shift. The evenings feel quieter. And though the heat may still linger here in
Southern California, I find myself reaching for little comforts — a light knit cardigan, a warm cup
of spiced tea, the scent of something baking in the oven just because.

Savoring the In-Between
There’s something sacred about this slow transition — this in-between season. It invites us
to reflect, prepare, and savor.
Summer has been a season of sun-kissed days, iced teas on the porch, and simple joys shared
with family — spontaneous gatherings, unhurried conversations, and long evenings that blurred
into night.

But now, I feel the gentle tug toward something deeper:
→ Stillness
→ Home
→ And the quiet graces that come with returning to a rhythm

Welcoming Fall with Intention
Even without crisp leaves underfoot or golden forests outside our window, we can
still welcome fall with intention:
 Swap light linens for cozy throws
 Simmer cinnamon on the stove just because
 Organize spaces with fresh eyes
 Brew a warm cup of tea as the sun sets
 Light a candle, open the Scriptures, and rest in His peace

Faith in the Quiet
This turning of the season reminds me that God often speaks in the quiet changes —
not just in grand beginnings or dramatic endings,
but in these gentle shifts,
where one season fades
and another takes its place.

There’s grace in transition.
An invitation to draw closer to Him…
to family…
to home.

Looking Ahead
In just a few weeks, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite fall recipes — the kind that feel like
comfort in a bowl.

And soon, the shoppe will reflect the season too, with autumn teas, dried florals, and
thoughtful treasures
 to cozy up your space.

How about you?
I’d love to hear from you:
Do you have any favorite rituals or traditions as the seasons change?
What are you most looking forward to this fall?

Feel free to share in the comments or connect with me on social media — let’s inspire each
other to slow down and savor this beautiful season.

A Few Simple Ways to Welcome Fall
 Light a cinnamon or vanilla-scented candle in the evenings
 Brew a warm cup of your favorite spiced tea and savor it slowly
 Take a quiet moment each day to reflect or say a prayer of gratitude
 Bring out a cozy throw or scarf to wrap yourself in comfort
 Start a small seasonal project, like arranging dried flowers or journaling about the
changing light

For now, I’m letting August be what it is:
A quiet invitation to savor the last of the light,
to gather close to those I love,
and to prepare my heart for the beauty that lies ahead.
